The concept is a multi-faceted concept
Chair, his photograph, definition of the meaning of the word"Chair" from the dictionary. All this together is a work of art. Namely conceptual. A concept is a term that has many meanings (derived from the Latin "conceptus", which translates as "concept"). If to explain simply and accessible, then this word is treated as an innovative, fresh idea aimed at creation. For example, there are so-called "concept cars".These are cars of the future, prototypes of developments inthis area in terms of design, technical component and style in general. Usually such machines do not go on sale, but are exhibits. At the auto show the public is invited to evaluate new ideas. Taking into account feedback and reaction, manufacturers decide the fate of know-how: to introduce or not to implement. Examples of such cars, which are a concept, is the Mercedes Benz F700, which is capable of detecting uneven road surfaces and driving around them, or BMW Gina (the framework of the elastic material of this car allows it to modify the shape). But the design of Ford Iosis was a prototype for the generation of Ford Mondeo cars. The Russian concept of a similar plan is the well-known E-mobile, hybrid auto with electric transmission.
The branch of postmodernism
If we return to what the concept isart, one must say that one of the pioneers in the direction of "conceptualism" is Joseph Kossuth, the author of the composition "Three Stools", with which the narrative of this article began. Other famous figures include John Lennon's widow Yoko Ono, Vanessa Beekroft, who uses model girls in her performance, Simon Starling (he converted a wooden shed into a boat, swam in the boat on the river, then returned it to its original form, that is, made a barn). The latter received for this his achievement the Turner Prize (established in 1984, a prestigious award in the field of contemporary art). In general, conceptualism is one of the branches of postmodernism. For the conceptual artist, the most important thingpass the idea to the viewer. And in what ways - it is he who decides for himself. For him, the concept is photos, diagrams, objects, audio recordings, phrases, graphics. In short, the conceptualist uses anything to express the essence of the idea. But the direction in art, designed to fully reflect only the thought, and not the external form or other visible attributes, is called - concept art.
From the language point of view
The language concept is what is taken inphilology for the author's idea, in some cases, a stable linguistic one with its traditional embodiment. You can say that this is an analogue of the motive. A social concept can be viewed as the product of a particular society, viable only because people are willing to obey its rules or agree to recognize that it exists. If we compare two definitions: "concept" and "concept" (from which, as already mentioned, the first word has occurred) - although they are formally synonymous, their use is delineated. The second word appears mostly in philosophy and logic, and the first is used only in mathematical logic, and much more often in cultural studies. In the most rare cases, the concept is identified with a syndicate.
