Spotlights for suspended ceiling - small suns in your house
Today, an indispensable element of the interiorDesigns are spotlights for suspended ceilings. In addition to the fact that these miniature lighting devices are sources of bright light, they also visually make the room higher and larger. With the help of correctly distributed spot lighting, even a small room or kitchen can be divided into certain zones. This type of lighting is widely used in public buildings: shopping centers, exhibition halls, restaurants, etc.
What are point lights for suspended ceilings?
Spotlights are compactelectric lighting devices with a small angle of light scattering, which is why they are used in complex groups, and not individually. Naturally, the number of "points" is selected depending on
area of the room. Point light fixtures for suspended ceilings allow not only to get a lot of unique options in the design of the room, but also to save electricity if you do not include all the fixtures in the room, but only a certain group in the right area. In addition to suspended ceilings, "points" can be mounted in various designs (shelves, upper levels of cabinets, arched openings, floor racks, etc.).
Classification of spotlights
Spotlights for suspended ceilingdiffer in their design features. They fall into two categories: on embedded and overhead, which, in turn, are divided into customizable and stationary.
- Recessed fixtures are mounted in holes of a certain diameter, previously done in the surface.
- The overhead version is attached directly to the surface.
- Adjustable spotlights have a swivel mechanism that allows you to rotate the body, directing the light beam into any area of the room and thereby changing the degree of illumination.
- The stationary type of luminaires is not equipped with an adjusting mechanism, so the beam of light is directed only downwards.
Installation of spotlights
Installation process for recessed lighting fixturesPoint type begins with the marking of their future location. When installing a suspended structure between the hanging and the main ceiling planes, it is necessary to leave a sufficient distance, which will allow the luminaires to be correctly installed. Having made the marking, it is necessary to make round holes, smaller in diameter than the plafond. After that, spotlights for a false ceiling are connected to the mains. This requires special transformers. They are electronic and induction. Electronic transformers are lightweight, simply mounted, but short-lived. Induction models weigh more, but much more reliably. Transformers can be installed on each spotlight or in separate groups. Then individual or consecutive connection of light devices is made. It should be taken into account that when connecting in series, when all the luminaires are connected with one wire, it is recommended to install a voltage rectifier, which will prevent the lamps from chain burning in case of voltage interruptions. By the way, it will not be superfluous for the rectifier and for individual connection, when each luminaire is connected to the distribution box with a separate wire.
