Russia will build a nuclear power plant in Bushehr
According to the head of Atomstroyexport JSC Sergey Shmatko, an agreement has been reached between Russia and Iran on the financing and construction of a nuclear power plant in the Iranian city of Bushehr. At the end of December, he promised to name specific dates and confirmed that all disputes with the customer had been settled.
The deadlines for completion of construction were the main issue of negotiations between Russia and Iran, which lasted a long time. Another issue discussed at the talks is the delay in financing construction from Iran. Tehran representatives have repeatedly reported the elimination of differences in this matter, but Rosatom has denied this information. And now S. Shmatko emphasized that Russia and Iran have no differences in the evaluation of the project.
The issue of fuel supply was commented very briefly. “Since the topic is too politicized, we decided not to communicate delivery dates in advance,” S. Shmatko said.At the same time, he assured that Russia will fulfill its obligations and begin to supply fuel within the agreed timeframe.
If earlier it was planned to start supplying fuel in September, now, due to the delay in construction, Atomstroyexport cannot give an exact answer to this question.
