Plasterboard walls

For the manufacture of partitions, ceilings and arches in houses and apartments, of various configurations, gypsum board is very often used. The use of this building material provides for "dry" construction work, which does not require the use of mortar for masonry, or plaster.

The gypsum board used in repair and construction works, depending on its thickness, which varies from 8mm to 24mm, can have a length of 2.5 m to 4.8 m. width is halved.

Plasterboard plates are arranged quite simply. The middle of such a plate is filled with gypsum G-4, intended for construction work, and its surfaces are treated with sheets of cardboard. The connection of cardboard with plaster occurs through the use of glue. Gypsum belongs to environmentally friendly materials, it has the ability to absorb excess moisture, and in a dry environment to return it back.

Depending on the operating conditions, various modifications of plasterboard sheets are produced. When using this building material in rooms characterized by high humidity, antiseptic additives are added to the gypsum, preventing the formation of mold, and a composition is introduced that improves its waterproofing properties.

For the operation of drywall in conditions of increased fire danger, there are varieties containing fire-resistant components. Various combined gypsum board options can also be offered to customers.

Gypsum panels are attached to the metal base, which are steel profiles. They reach thicknesses of up to 0.8 mm and lengths of up to 6 m. To protect against corrosion, these products are zinc plated. When installing plasterboard partitions, several types of profiles are used, first of all, rack-mount profiles, which are directly intended for fixing sheets of drywall.

The profiles provide holes for laying the necessary communications. This type of profiles is installed in the guide profiles, which are also used in the manufacture of doors in a plasterboard partition. The most vulnerable places of the partition of plasterboard plates are their joints in the corners, to protect which from the destruction of used angular profiles. During installation work on the device surfaces of curvilinear configuration using a special arched profile.

At arrangement of plasterboard partitions, polystyrene foam is most often used as a heat insulating and soundproof material. You can also use similar materials based on mineral wool. The unique properties of heat and sound insulator polystyrene owes its unique porous structure.

Styrofoam is formed in the process of foaming polystyrene, as a result of which all microscopic pores are filled with air, which is 98% of the total mass of the substance. This material, intended for insulation, is produced in the form of plates, the thickness of which can reach a value equal to 500 mm, with its maximum length - 5 m, and the maximum width - 1.3 m.

This material is durable and environmentally friendly, it is not the habitat of all kinds of fungi, and its only drawback is its tendency to burn, it is easily overcome by the introduction of an additive in the form of an antiperene.
