Meghan Trainor is ‘All About That Bass’ in First Headline Tour
Kicking off 2015 with a bang, Meghan Trainor will launch her first ever North American headline tour. That Bass Tour, produced by Live Nation, sees the platinum-certified rising pop star perform in major markets across the U.S. and Canada beginning February 11, 2015 at the Vogue Theatre in Vancouver, BC with stops in New York City, Los Angeles, Toronto, Chicago, and Washington D.C. Australian pop band, Sheppard, will be special guests on Trainor’s tour.
Meanwhile, Trainor’s hotly anticipated full-length debut, Title (Epic Records), hits shelves on January 13 just prior to the launch of her tour. Her six-time platinum anthem “All About That Bass” also recently made big headlines. Clinching the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for eight straight weeks, she tied Michael Jackson for longest leading No. 1 single in Epic Records history and the longest No. 1 by a female artist this year. The video has been viewed over 200,000,000 times and counting.
Following up “All About That Bass” in style, Trainor recently unveiled the scorching and sexy new single “Lips Are Movin.” Upon impacting Top 40 radio last week, the track became “Most Added” at the format, swiftly moving up the charts and looking to repeat the monumental success of its predecessor.
“All About That Bass” recently received an MTV EMA nomination in the category of “Best Song With a Message.” Trainor is also up for “New Artist of the Year” at the American Music Awards and Best New Female Musician at the LOGO New Next Now Awards. Trainor will perform “All About That Bass” with Miranda Lambert at the CMAs on November 5 and will also perform on Nickelodeon’s HALO Awards on November 30.
Across the pond, fans share the same enthusiasm for “All About That Bass”, turning it into a worldwide sensation. It has spent four consecutive weeks at #1 in the UK, becoming the longest-running #1 all year. It also went #1 Australia, Canada, Germany, Austria, Denmark, Ireland, and Mexico while peaking at #1 on the iTunes singles chart in 58 countries.
