Is it possible to marry in fasting?
Before appointing the date of the wedding, people who believe in God are asked by priests whether they can marry fast, and also carefully study the church calendar.
Marriage in the post: can or not
Priests do not advise Orthodox peoplemarry or marry in fasting. What does this mean? Register marriage in the registry office is allowed, but to celebrate this day and get married - is prohibited. If the date of the wedding is already determined in the registry office, and you do not want to transfer it, then simply sign, and feast timed to the date of the wedding, when there will not be a fast.
Post is an interval of time for the internalcontemplation, abstinence, obedience, the possibility of spiritual purification. Therefore during a post all kinds of celebrations are forbidden. If the date of the wedding can not be resumed, the bride and groom must take into account that it is better not to hold a celebration. And if you make a table, then modest:
- Eating meals;
- Absence of any alcoholic beverages;
- Contests, games and dances are not recommended.
