How to plant peonies?
A beautiful peony bush is an ornament of any garden,the pride of every florist. For all its aristocratic beauty, the peony is very unpretentious in care and is undemanding to the conditions of growth. To ensure that you have abundantly blossomed these charming plants in your summer cottage, it is enough to know and diligently observe a few simple rules how to plant peonies.
How to plant peonies: rules
- Planting and replanting peonies is best at the endsummer, in August or September. The pions are multiplied by dividing the rhizome of an adult, three years old and older, a bush. The root is excavated, cleared from the ground and cut into separate cuts with two or three kidneys on each with a sharp garden knife.
- Correctly planted, healthy peony bush cangrow and blossom in one place until twenty years. Therefore, to choose a place for peonies, be responsible. Do not plant peonies under the canopy of trees, near walls and bushes. Pions have a well-developed root system and, as they grow, become cramped from close neighbors, and in a dense shadow they simply refuse to blossom.
- Choose protected from the wind, not marshy, withlight penumbra, better located on the east side of the house, place. For one to two weeks before planting, dig a pit of half a meter in width and depth. If necessary, lay the claydite drainage on the bottom of the pit. For two-thirds fill it with a mixture of garden land, sand, compost and fertilizer for flowers. The land in the pit must have time to settle before landing.
- Place the bag in the center of the preparedbeforehand pits. Fill it with garden soil so that the soil layer above the flower buds does not exceed five centimeters. It is very important to control the depth of planting - peonies planted too deeply, bloom poorly, and sometimes do not form buds at all. After planting, do not forget to water your peony well.
