Holland Football Championship 2017-2018

The Dutch Championship 2017-2018 was 62 in a row in the national football tournament, where the title of the best team in the country will be played by 18 clubs. The most fun and attacking championship of the Old World, not included in the Top 5, again pleases fans with an abundance of heads, uncompromising struggle and a bright game of future stars. Eredivizi has long been considered the forge of young talents, for which tens of millions of European grants later spread out.

Tournament regulations

Holland Football Championship 2017-2018 will be held from August 11 to May 6. During this time, the teams will play 34 rounds, the results of which will be allocated in the table. The competition is held in a two-round system, that is, each club will play two games with opponents (in the home stadium and in the opponent's arena). The teams that take the first two places will be eligible to play in the qualifications of the Champions League 2018-2019. Football teams that ended up at 3-7 places will hold a world tournament between them for the right to represent the country in the Europa League.

PSV: football team

The loser, who was on the last place in the table, automatically goes down in class, and the next season is in the second most powerful Dutch division - Österdivisi. Teams on the 16th and 17th line play stock matches with the second and third club Estedivizi for the right to remain in the elite. Title Applicants

Unlike other tournaments of the Old World, Eredivizi does not carry intrigue in terms of championship. From year to year the title is played by the following football teams:

  • "PSV";
  • Ajax;
  • "Feyenoord".

The difference, both in budgets and in the game level, between the presented troika and the other participants of the championship is huge. All this suggests that a number of “dark horses” are unlikely to be able to compete for the first three lines, and their maximum is places with 4 and below. In other words, its “Leicester” in Eredivisi will not appear soon.

“PSV Eidhoven” last season took the offensive third place in the Championship of the Netherlands, which automatically deprived Philip Kok of his wards participation in the Champions League. Moreover, the red and white did not qualify for the Europa League, having lost the opportunity to represent the country in the international arena. However, every cloud has a silver lining, and now PSV can focus only on the domestic championship matches.The unloaded calendar gave the players an opportunity for extra rest and proper preparation for their rivals. As a result, the club gave the best start over the past few decades, having scored 11 victories in 12 rounds. After a third of the tournament distance, the PSV gap from the closest pursuers is 8 points.

Klaas Jan Huntelar: Ajax Player

The youth of "Ajax" can not mature: that season guys from Amsterdam create problems for themselves on level ground. Changing the head coach did not affect the game discipline, as the wards of Marcel Kaiser continue to make children's mistakes, passing goals on level ground. This led to hurtful defeats, a decline in morale and an impressive backlog of first place (8 points). Considering the fact that Ajax is also not playing in European cups, to lose, for example, Heerenveen at home is an unaffordable luxury. At this rate, you can say goodbye to the second line and a place in the Champions League for next season.

Last year's winner of Eredivizi “Feyenoord” covered a protracted crisis. Wards Giovanni van Bronkhorst were not physically ready to play on two fronts: the domestic championship and the Champions League.The gap from the first line is already 14 points, and it is almost impossible to eliminate. With such a game, “Feyenoord” can only hope to get into the playoff zone of the Europa League, where the “light bulbs” will have to demonstrate their skills in order to win trips to the European Cup.

Financial side of the game

Information about the budgets of the clubs of the Dutch championship is periodically published in the local press. In particular, the publication “Financieele Dagblag” gives the following figures on the financial status of clubs:

  • PSV - € 85 million;
  • Ajax - 80 million euros;
  • Feyenoord - € 59 million.

The remaining clubs are far behind: Twente - 30 million, Vitesse - 26 million, AZ Alkmar - 23 million, and Heerenveen - 20 million. The uneasy financial condition leads to a drop in the income of football players. To lure the eminent player in Eredivizi every year becomes more difficult. At the moment, the most highly paid player of the championship of the Netherlands is considered to be Luc de Jong, and his income for the season is estimated at 1 million euros. Even in comparison with salaries of the Premier League this is a miser.

In such circumstances, the leadership of the clubs relies on young people, preparing personnel for the top championships. It turns out this is still quite successful, because scouts of leading clubs in Europe are paying attention primarily to Eredivizi. For comparison, one transfer of the rising star “Ajax” Davinson Sanchez cost Tottenham “40 million euros.Dozens of promising football players from lesser-known teams of the country also go for a decent amount. What can I say: make money for young people in the Netherlands.

Dutch football in crisis?

The fact that the level of play in the championship of the Netherlands is gradually falling has been talked about for a long time, but only this summer the problem became obvious. Firstly, the national team did not qualify for the World Cup in Russia, which was an unpleasant surprise for the Orange fans. Secondly, only Feyenoord managed to get into the European Cups this season. The last place in the Champions League subgroup and the role of the supplier of points for stronger opponents, of course, does not suit the fans. The reasons for the decline of football in the Netherlands are obvious:

  • financial crisis of a number of clubs;
  • tactical miscalculations of the coaching staffs;
  • weak competitive level of the championship.

Dutch national football team

Adhering to the attacking style of the game, that the Dutch team, that most teams from this country are unprepared for breaking into the defense of the opponent. Young players often lack experience, and there’s no money to invite a star to the team that will lead the rest. Young talents of Eredivizi are washed out by the grandees of European football, like grains of gold on Klondike.The local championship requires reforms, otherwise it will remain a big platform for scouting rich clubs.

In the calendar of the Dutch Football Championship 2017-2018, there are still a lot of interesting matches that you should definitely watch. The performance of young footballers who want to prove their worth will surely please with spectacular moments. Do not miss the exciting game of the championship of the Netherlands.
